There’s a connection I feel when my fingers touch the piano keys, it’s like a million answers coming to me all at once. It’s a moment where life is completely effortless. I performed one show in Nashville, and I was signed the next week. Then I spent 4 years trying to prove that I belonged there. It didn’t really work.
Then one night, I had a dream, and somehow I got to my piano, pushed record, and I played a song all the way through, while mumbling some words, and went back to sleep. A week later, that song, “Beautiful”, became my first cut, and set off a chain of events that altered my life as a songwriter.
Much of my life as an Artist has been accompanied by that inner battle I wage against myself. The struggle of being and wanting more vs. the ease of allowing what comes.
After almost 20 years in this industry, the one thing I know for sure is
“I’m the faucet. Not the water.”
